Search by 'Open Now' option?

When 'on', there will be a checkbox visible on the Search Box that let's users search businesses who's business hours indicate that they are open at the time of the search. This feature is marked as 'experimental' because it involves a very complex SQL syntax that may not be compatible with all Database types (developed on MySql). Moreover, in this SQL syntax is some complex math to adjust the search across timezones. If this Search type is not relevant to your niche, it is recommended to leave this turned off. When 'off', this search option will remain invisible.

Pick a Location Block: Explained

This plugin comes with 2 'Blocks' that lets you display locations in a similar manner as categories/subcategories block on the Main page.

These 2 block options are: main.locations, main.locationscities

The main.locations block can display states, while the main.locationscities block cannot.

Pick a Location Block: Only Show These Countries, in this order. Separate ISOs w/ Commas. Ex. US,CA,SE,GB

On the Directory's Main page, you will notice a block that lists three countries by default. This control lets you pick which countries to display in that block. This is useful if geographic searches will be used alot by making them quick and easy. Be sure to use the correct ISO for each country you want to display. These countries are pulled from the Phpfox Country system. If you do not wish to use this block at all, navigate to the below and deactivate that block:

CMS > Blocks > Manage Blocks ::: abstractbusiness.main.index ::: Business Main Page - Locations Cities Block

Pick a Location Block: Show States

When using the main.locations block, this lets you control whether or not to display states at all.

Pick a Location Block: Only Show These States, in this order. Separate Ids w/ Commas. Ex. 53,51,3,20

If electing to display states, this lets you control exactly which states to display, and in what order. The numbers of the states are from the Phpfox States System as they are in the Database.

Pick a Location Block: Show Cities

This lets you display Cities when using either block.

Pick a Location Block: Order Cities Alphabetically -or- Order Cities by Popularity

Order Cities Alphabetically will display the Cities in alphabetic order. Order Cities by Popularity will order the Cities by most entries to least. The popularity sorting method may not work with all database types (tested with MySql).

Submit Business form type

When a user is submitting a Listing for the first time, you can present to them a simplified form to expedite the process, or display the full form with all options. Sometimes a large complicated submission form can intimidate users from completing it. The 'Simple' option will only present the user with the 'required' fields, while the 'Advanced' option will display all fields. Note, that this setting only applies to the initial Submission form; the Edit form (the one used after initial submission) will always be the 'Advanced' version.

Display 'Create Ad' links (links to Phpfox Create Ad section)?

This will display a link entitled 'Create Ad' for each listing in the 'Manage' area. This should only be turned on if you are allowing users to advertise using the Phpfox Ad System.

Document Search Mode

'Packages' mode will search and return Document Packages results. 'Files' mode will search and return Files results.

Default Business View Section

This sets the default area that will be displayed when viewing a Listing's full view page.

Hide Location Fields on Search Box

This lets you display/hide location search fields that are/aren't relevant to your site.

Default Country

This lets you set a default Country. All Country drop-down selectors will default to this Country if used. Note, that this default Country will also automatically be applied to the Search page upon visitation. For example, if this setting is set to US, when you visit the Search page, the US search filter will automatically be applied, and US will be selected in the Country drop-down.

Default State

This lets you set a default State (a default Country must also be set to use this). All State drop-down selectors will default to this State if used. Note, that this default State will also automatically be applied to the Search page upon visitation.

Default City

This lets you set a default City. All city fields will default to this City if used. Note, that this default City will also automatically be applied to the Search page upon visitation.

Page View Counter Mode

This lets you set whether you want to count one view per person, or count every view towards the view count.

Approval Mode

This lets you set whether you want to manually approve new Listings before they are submitted to the Directory or not. Automatic will not require any approval. If set to manual, you as the admin, will receive an email notification once per day about any pending approvals.

Send Admin Email Notifications to

This tells the plugin who to send any and all Admin notifications to in the event that there are multiple admins.

Allow Duplicate Business Names?

This tells the plugin if it's to allow a User to submit a Listing that shares the same name as one already in the database.

Allow Duplicate Websites?

This tells the plugin if it's to allow a User to submit a Listing that has the same website address as one already in the database.

Email Display Method

This tells the plugin how to display a Listing's email address in the Info section. Mailto will be an active mailto anchor. Pic will display the email address as a generated image of the text. Pic method is recommended as it will keep the address safer from being picked up by spam bots. The color fields here are so you can blend this image with your site's colors.

Allowed Html Tags

There are some text areas in this plugin where you may want to allow the user to use some HTML. This tells the plugin what to allow or not allow in those designated areas. Note, that all HTML will be stripped in 'publicly shared' areas so as to limit any HTML display errors to the Business pages and not ever affect any public main page.

Image Upload Size (MB) (0=Unlimited)

Specify the Max Image Upload size here.

Link reciprocation mode (when on)

If requiring Link Reciprocation in a Listing Plan, this lets the plugin know how we should check for reciprocation links. The 'Link must appear on link entered' will check for the link-back on the Listing's website address. If 'Link can appear on any link on the website' the plugin will allow the link-back to be placed on any page on that website.

Where to find your site's Banner codes (Full Url)

This will default to using this plugin's built-in Banner system, but if you're using a different Banner system you can enter the address here.

Multiple Categorization for a single Listing

This will let users select up to three different Categories for a single listing.

Subcategory Mode

This lets you require a Subcategory, make them optional, or turn them completely off.

Max number of Sub-Categories to list on Home page

The big Category block on the Main page can get cluttered if you have tons of Categories and Subcategories. This lets you limit the number of Subcats that will display under each Category on that block.

Number of Tags in Tag Cloud (0=Off)

This lets you determine the size of your Tag Cloud on the Main page.

Minimum Length of Tag

This lets you set the minimum character length for a word to qualify as a 'tag'. For example, if set to '4', the word 'the' will not qualify, but the word 'hello' will qualify. This lets you keep common words like 'the' or 'of' or 'a' out of the tag cloud because they are so common that they will inevitably be the most used.

Tag Seperator (blank=space)

This lets you set the how the plugin interprets tag entries. If set to 'space', for example, the phrase 'hello world' will generate 2 tags. If set to comma (,) the phrase 'hello world' will only generate the entire phrase as the tag, but if it was 'hello, world' then 2 tags would be generated.

Date Format (full) and Date Format (short)

PHP Date Formatting is explained here. 'Full' is used is places where more detailed information is useful. 'Short' is used where display space may be an issue.

Activity Points

Here you can set how many (if any) Phpfox Activity points are to be awarded for each 'action'. For example, if setting 'Follow A Business' to '10', a User will earn 10 points everytime they follow a business. If they un-follow a business, they will have 10 points deducted. The same principle applies to each of the 'actions'.

Review/Comment Types

The Review/Comment types are dynamic in this plugin; here you can set the Review/Comment type for each of the Item Types in this plugin.
