29.10 SRM 100 Surface Resistance and Resistivity Checker
Specification : The SRM 110 is the first Pocket Resistivity /Resistance Checker with a range from 10^3 to 10^12 ohms per square Designed as an LED indicator measuring both surface Resistivity in Ohm/square as per EIA-541 test method ASTM ,D-257, and Surface Resistance measurements of packaging materials in Ohms, as per standard S-11.11. Making contact with the Auxiliary connection marked either ground or Earth leakage with the lead supplied. The Checker offers point to point Resistance, ideal for measuring floors, chairs, work surfaces, trolleys and other ESD controlled materials or products. Its repeatable measurements of conductive ,static dissipative and insulative surfaces, are achieved using high speed Op-AMP integrated circuits. Ranging is automatic due to the circuit being liner, with changeover points + or – ½ decade on a logarithmic scale (+ or – 10% from the mean value per unit . )
Operation of SRM – 110 Make sure that a good quality Alkaline PP3 battery is fitted . Hold the checker away from any surface and press the test button, the insulative red LED should light . By placing the checker on to the surface that requires testing, press the test button and appropriate LED will light indicating the decade measured Calibration is recommended on average every twelve months.
Checking Resistance to Ground Insert the ground/Earth leakage into the Auxiliary socket . This isolates the test probe on the right side of the checker ( the same side as the socket). Connect the croc. clip to your ground point, and with the checker on the surface that needs testing press and hold the test button. Your measurement will now be displayed as Resistance to ground in Ohms.
