MET International - Software Division
MET International - Software Division brings to India state-of-the-art Softwares - SandLab and MeltLab, developed in the USA and being used by the Metallurgical industries form over 3 decades. This includes several auto majors across the world and otehr Foundries.
- SandLab is meant for controlling the Green Sand system through proper alanysis of the various data collected by testing the sand.
- MeltLab helps in controlling the Metallurgical properties of teh metal in the furnace before it is poured into moulds. The Advanced MeltLab, used for the production and quality of Gray Cast Iron helps control the microporosity which causes the castings to fail pressure tests, grain boundary carbides, which render teh castings hard while machining, typr of graphite distribution, chill etc.. of the castings BEFORE the metal is taken out of the furnace. This enormously reduced rejections and rework and helps betetr enery utilisatyion and increases plant capacity utilisation.

MET International - R&D Centre
Foundries believe that any Foundry Chemical that is imported will be good. But unfortulately this has not been true, because, those Chemicals are developed based on consistent quality of inputs available elsewhere in the world. Unfortunately the Inputs available in India are never consistent but vary from lot to lot and batch to bath. Scrap is an excellene example.
- It is therefore necessary to make appropriate changes in the composition of the Foundry Chemicals to be more effective. These were the reasons for setting-up the In-house R&D center.
